MADRID INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Madrid International Airport - All flights arrive into Barajas Airport, which is open 24 hours a day. To get into the centre of the city by metro then take line 8 which costs €1,13 for a single ticket or €5,35 for a book of ten tickets. On the way to the airport, the nearest metro stops are Colon and Serrano.

Especial buses run between the airport and the Plaza de Colon every 10-15 minutes between 5.45am and 9.30pm. The journey takes about 45 minutes but you should allow longer during the rush hour. One way costs €3, call 91 431 61 92 for more information.

Alternatively, a taxi costs €20 to the centre and should only be taken from the indicated ranks as there have been reports of illegal mini-cab operators touting for business inside the terminal building. All the major Car Rental Companies are represented in the terminal and the airport has adequate parking facilities.

There are Tourist Information points on the departures level should you need information, maps, accommodation options etc. and there are also ATM’s, bureau de change’s, cafes and gift shops.
