Many Madrid Hotels are small, family-run
affairs and you may find yourself dealing directly with the
owners of the hotel. The language barrier may prove problematic
at times and any attempt on your part to speak Spanish will
be well received. Staying in these family-owned accommodations
will give you a chance to experience the “real”
Madrid instead of seeing the city from behind the walls of
a modern hotel. Do bear in mind that you need to check if
you’re going to be sharing bathroom and kitchen facilities,
and that there maybe a certain level of noise outside the
building, particularly at night. The following list gives
you a brief low down on the cheaper hotels available.
